In Cabaret, Sally Bowles gets a fur coat from rich Max. The collar looks like …racoon? the rest of the coat is shortish, silvery gray and…black? I have been looking at it in that movie for years and can’t put my finger on it.

Or monkey? Monkey fur coats were a “thing” in the 20s.

The body, it’s harder to say. Possibly mink, possible chinchilla, possibly rabbit, possibly squirrel. Some smaller animal, and not raccoon or beaver by the look of how it’s pieced.
I thought chinchilla, but they are so small, their little pelts such uniform sad little silvery grey puffs all in endless rows. It’s so hard to identify, I think rabbit or squirrel is not ‘expensive’ enough with a big sable collar
