Words cannot adequately express our gratitude for what you good folks are doing for us. Whether your help is monetary, job leads, or good wishes . . . they are all equally appreciated. Thank you all so very much.
Being that this is an ongoing project, please keep those job leads coming.
Special thanks to Scotticher, Una Persson, TheLoadedDog, and of course, TubaDiva . . . this project would never have come to fruition without her.
**THEY ** aren’t the ones who brought it up. Some of their friends did. And THEY gave their time to work on this board. I would not equate some of their friends offering a hand up when they were down to spam.
Unfortunately, no. Despite the fact I’ve followed up on all the leads posted and sent to me, and many that I’ve found on my own, I still haven’t gotten any positive responses. But the holidays aren’t prime hiring time, so I hope that things will get better soon.
This thread was never intended to be a permanent fixture. It was decided to have the thread stickyed for a couple of months or until I found employment – which ever came first.
Please continue to keep us in mind for further job possibilities. We will continue to actively follow up any leads you might be able to send us.
Goodlord…with a resume like that and hard to get work?! Geez…this economy is really fucked up.
Try going onto www.lasvegas.com and look at the Las Vegas Review Journal classifieds, Sunday editions. Despite the reputation of Sin City, Las Vegas is (still) affordable, lots of housing and has started to get a lot of computer based industries moving here because there is no state tax. Plus, the weather ought to be a plus for you guys!!!
One small problem…businesses here don’t really “hire” out of state people (too many fans go home and just send out feelers for jobs here, but never follow up…) but they will set up an interview if they are interested. You do, however, have to come here to be really considered for the job.
If there is ANYTHING I can do to help here in Las Vegas (dropping off a resume, giving you the 411 on a business, or helping you while you come for an interview)…PLEASE drop me an email and I will be more than happy to help!
If I put up a post soliciting donations for rsa, I doubt that it would last for very long, even if it turned out that rsa did a bunch of worthy volunteer work.
