:eek:Look forget the racism angle of a cake that looks like a 1930s caricature of a black tribal woman from Africa.
Is that not just the most disgusting and disturbing thing you’ve ever seen?! Who would want to eat that?! The “cake” screams when someone cuts off a piece, and the first piece cut off was the clit which was fed to the guy who made it(in the mask).
Watch the video of it!
This is like an anti-abortion group serving aborted fetus bloody marys, where a fake vagina dribbles out bloody marys with tiny plastic fetuses mixed in.
I couldn’t bring myself to eat that, and I’m pretty strong in the stomach.
The truly horrifying thing about the pictures and video is that the women (WOMEN!) who are participating are smiling and laughing. WTF indeed. I would have been crying (or vomiting).
1.White people aren’t kidnapping and forcibly circumcising girls or women in Africa, assuming that is what the cake is protesting.
2.Ugh who the fuck would eat that? Nah man. This whole be so outrageous you get into the media horseshit is stupid.
EDIT:Again I don’t care about the racism angle or whether the artist is black or not, I’m saying that is one of the most ghastly nightmare images I’ve ever seen and I can’t believe anyone could eat a piece of it.
You’re all messing with my (rather shaky) sense of time! I thought the cake sounded familiar, and yes, it’s a story from 2012. Not that the date makes it any less relevant: it was just a sort of odd time warp.
I think the neck rings were probably there so that it would not at first be apparent that the head is actually the head of the artist himself, who was squashed into a little box underneath the sculpture, and screamed every time someone put a knife in to the cake.
The artist, Makode Linde, is himself black - well, mixed race, I suppose. White Swedish mother black African father.
The point seems to have been to a) draw attention to the artist, and b) bring about a racism ruckus in the media. That the cake was wildly off-topic, so to speak - as you correctly note, circumcision isn’t something whites do to blacks - is irrelevant to points a) and b).
But having said all that - yes, it is indeed an incredibly ghastly image!
Well, given that a lot of the cake was black in colour, that sounds like a GREAT excuse to include tons of chocolate (not that an excuse should be needed), so it would have to be a good cake. And if the bloody bits included strawberries, or preferably raspberries … I am getting hungry now and I have no cake.
