Calendar Fun and Trivia

In the Death Pool thread RTFirefly made this post

Being a fan of calendars and dates and the like, it dawned on me that I had never taken the trouble to break down the year (the 365 day version – skipping Leap Years) into fractions. So using this Day of Year Calendar it was easy enough to come up with this starter set:

 10% 36 Feb/5
 20% 73 Mar/14
 30% 109 Apr/19
 40% 146 May/26
 50% 182 Jul/1
 60% 219 Aug/7
 70% 255 Sep/12
 80% 292 Oct/19
 90% 328 Nov/24
100% 365 Dec/31

Then I had the thought that other calendar fans might have other tricks or oddities worth sharing, so I started this thread.

What fun things can you share about the 365-day year? Calendars in general?

July 2 is the day that’s in the middle of a 365-day year.

Well, there’s the old chestnut: Doomsday Rule

Which, for 2014 says that April 4, June 6, August 8, October 10 and December 12 are all Fridays (i.e. 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10/, 12/12)

There’s much more to it than that. For example, 5/9, 9/5, 7/11, 11/7 are all Fridays (use the mnemonic “Working 9 to 5 at the 7/11”)… and so is the last day of January and the last day of February.
