Call of Duty: Black Ops

You basically seem to just have to play online to level up- levels acquired in combat training don’t carry over to online play, from what I can tell.

Yep, the only way to get those perks is to play online a lot. The more kills you get, the more challenges you meet, the more COD money you get, the more perks you can buy.

Ah, they are purchased, presumably with that weirdo COD points I think I saw?

Cool. Wish I had a better TV for this, as my old school CRT is kinda hard to read. lol

As far as I can tell, the Stoner 63 is basically an M-16 with no fire selection (the only setting it has is “Spray Religiously”)

I’m liking the AK74U. I can move around a bit better, and it’s very well balanced on most of the maps.

On the tighter maps, I loves me the SPAS-12 with the suppressor. pfthppfthppfthp at unsuspecting dudes when I run up behind them. No way a suppressor actually makes a shotgun that quiet, but it’s still danged fun.

Yep. Just play. You don’t even have to be good, just play a lot. If you go to mae a class, go to the perks, and hit X, you’ll see what you have to do to unlock the Pro version of that perk.

They don’t.

But, it’s fun as hell to get a buddy, put the AI on recruit(easy), and go 2 vs 9 to see how many kills you can rack up. My record is 176 with a 30000 point limit / 15 minute game in Nuketown.

After playing a few days stuck on level 50 I think I’m finally going to prestige. Dammit, I’ll miss my G11.

I don’t see the point.

I thought prestige starts you at square one with weapons. It doesn’t?

…Or are you saying you don’t see the point of prestige classing?

This.

Then again, I’m also repeatedly on record for not liking the way they level you up in Cal of Duty games.

I prestige. I like it. It gives me a carrot to follow. I might do it until I get to the last prestige. Just remember to sink your extra COD points into the badge icons and such since those follow you through prestiges and your points don’t.

You’ll be back on the G11 in no time, though.

Meh, why not. I’m getting good enough to school suckas with the ballistic knife, the G11 is awesome but by now its almost like a crutch. Along those same lines I could just camp on Team Deathmatch and wait for people to walk around the corner if I wanted an easy kill count.

I never used the ballistic knife all that much. I always seem to miss, and I don’t really know why. It should be easier than the crossbow since you don’t have to ADS with it, but I don’t know the technique. What’s the trick?

Actually, I just shank fools. Equipping the ballistic knife speeds up the attack and increases the range of your lunge.

Just thought I’d share another clip of mine from youtube…

Please tell me if it’s not ok to post mainly to share a clip.
What’s the deal with wager matches on the PC? Do they take the console/MW2 style of matchmaking? Or do they occur on servers like all the other modes on the PC. I tried to play a wager match the other day. I got no server browser, just thrown into a game. Unfortunately the game lacked ONE player to reach the minimum for AGES so I ended up forfeiting.

I’m cool with you sharing. Please. Continue.
Huh. That would make no sense for them to take that style of play for only one gametype, though. That’s odd if that is the case.

Thanks.
Over the christmas and New Year period I played BO (PC) on and off. I did quite well, and, as an indication of that - my kd went from 1.28 to 1.39 overall (I’ve played a lot before this so that seemingly small movement of 0.11 is actually quite significant)

But yesterday I did much worse than usual. Every server I went into had a significant number of good players.

My theory is that during christmas a lot of usual players were not playing, and this left occasional players and not many good players… so noobs like myself were able to do better than usual. But now that the festive period is effectively over, the ‘demographic’ (if that’s the right word) is back to normal, and good players are ten a penny.

Anyone else notice this? Or is it coincidental?

Not at all, in the lobbies before the match starts you can see your opponents level and while a prestige level 5 is really 55 levels their badge changes to a missile looking thing.

A lot of Privates mean plenty of kiddies got BO for Christmas.

Didn’t think of that. Seems like the more obvious answer.
