Can anyone share their knowledge/experience with Laufenn Tires? They have a Laufenn tire for my car at Pep Boys at a reasonable price. The government rates this tire pretty good compared to others in its class for my size tire. But, I know nothing about this brand. Maybe they don’t live up to the gov rating (as I have found with Continentals as Consumer Reports agreed). But, these are not rated by Consumer Reports. Anyone familiar with these tires?
Made by Hankook in Indonesia. They’ll probably be fine.
Laufenn is the relatively new “all purpose” brand of tire from Hankook. Maybe Hankook thought people were associating their name with performance and wanted a new brand for the every man. I have no experience with them, but yeah, they’re probably fine.
I have a set of these on my 2012 Ford Escape. The local tire shop said they had good luck with them and told me they were a Hankook brand. At the same time, I put Goodyear Ultratours on our minivan. This was about 25K miles ago for both vehicles and I’ve been pleased with the Laufenn. They are smooth, relatively quiet, and slow wearing. The Goodyears have actually worn faster, but I suspect that’s due to vehicle weight differences.
