Tires,questions,info

If there are any Aussies or NZeders out there who have knowledge of,or experience with, Hankook Tires I wouold appreciate their comments and evaluations.

Of course the same information would be welcome from our Canadian or South East Asian friends.

The reason for the question is that this old WW2 Marine has just bought an '05 Ford for his lady- wife and it came through with those tires.

Am I heading for trouble?

Should I haul it into the dealer and fake a melt fown?

Or just swap; them for some Michelins and pay the price?

Any help will be deeply appreiated!

EZ

They are made in Korea. Most Hyundai and Kia models come factory equipped with Hankook tyres. I’ve had them in two of my cars (both Hyundais) with no problems. Unless the tread is worn or there’s some other damage, there is no reason to change them.

The Koreans are actually pretty damn good at this tire business. Hankooks are excellent tires and Kumhos may be the best tires you can buy at any price.

Now, if you were told that the car would be coming on Michelins and it showed up on Hankooks, you could reasonably ask the dealer to give you the price difference. That’s no problem.
