this is kind of a doozy. we’re doing hypothetical situations, like ‘if marta goes, i will go with her.’ in the book it says that for circumstances that are likely to occur, you use the indicative in the se clause and the indicative or imperative in the main clause. for the impossible or imaginary situations, it says you use the imperfect subjunctive for the se clause and the conditional for the main clause. someone just said that for totally impossible situations you use trepassato - is that possible true?
