k2dave, as I think you understand, what I said in the other thread should be considered a reminder, not an official warning. I appreciate your apology. That really does show class.

In retrospect, I probably sould have closed or moved the thread at the time of my first post because it was already turning into a debate. I didn’t see the thread again until just before I closed it.

Collounsbury’s comments that you took offense at are certainly not the sort of thing I like to see in GQ. But by the time I saw that post of his I was almost sure I was going to move or close the thread, so I was already applying GD rules of conduct. GD rules are somewhat different from GQ rules. Do-your-homework type comments are more likely to fly in GD than GQ. But of course direct personal attacks are not allowed in either forum. His comments were veiled in such a way that I felt they would be acceptable (but certainly not preferred) conduct.
