I was taking a cookie sheet out of a bottom cabinet and a glass Calphalon lid hit the ceramic tile just right I guess, resulting in an explosion of tempered glass. Seriously, it went all the way into the living room. I’m in sandals and they’re covered so I had to call he who lives on the couch to rescue me. Swept, mopped and Swiffered and we’re still finding bits.
I sent the photo of the glass to Calphalon and yup, they’re going to send me a new lid and even better, if the pan that lid went to is no longer made, I’ll get a new pan too, which is cool, because I think I got that skillet as a remainder somewhere.
Calphalon is well-known for their excellent customer service. I know people who’ve had pans replaced multiple times, mostly for their own stupidity. Calphalon knows that keeping you happy means you’ll buy more of their stuff.
Great company, btw. Originally from Perrysburg, Ohio. Bought up by Newell Brands in 1998, but they still seem to run their own operation pretty much. I lived in Toledo during the 2000s, and Calphalon was everywhere around town. I’m a firm believer in their products.
Thanks for the post. I will have to check our their warranty. I’ve used 2-3 pans to the point of damage (30 years worth of use). I don’t know if they’ll cover it, but worth a check.
