Don’t let it be forgot
That once there was a spot
For one brief shining moment
That was known as Camelot.
Anybody remember “Blue Light?” (1966) It was an attempt to make Goulet into a secret agent, a la “The Man from Uncle” - except it was set during WW II. Not a bad show, as I recall, but I don’t think it lasted a whole season.
Besides stealing your things when you sleep, Robert Goulet is also infamous for another thing: Elvis famously shot his television after seeing Robert Goulet singing, apparently because he was cheating on one of Elvis’s girls.
Bob Goulet out, Steve McQueen in!
Let’s not forget his classic appearance on **The Simpsons ** when Mr. Burns builds a casino and hires Robert Goulet to entertain, only to have Bart and Nelson intercept him to instead play at Bart’s treehouse casino.
Best lines:
Bart: Mr. Goulet, come with me."
Goulet: “Are you from the casino?”
Bart" “I’m from a casino.”
Goulet: “Good enough for me.”
As Robert Goulet is climbing the ladder to the treehouse, he is havings doubts.
Goulet: “This doesn’t seem right. I’d better call my secretary.”
Nelson: “Your secretary says ‘shut up’”.
Goulet: “Vera said that?”
