Can a link to a personal blog be posted in the context of info?

Hey all,
I’m not sure if I’ve ever really understood the answer to this question (and I’m not sure if it’s changed over time, either,) but I would much rather be safe than sorry here. Is it okay to post a link to information that’s on a personal blog? I have a blog about stem cell research and treatments, and one of my posts has some new information on the state of Alzheimer’s research. So can I point people to this blog for the info? Would it be okay to do this in the future for more information on current research and treatment for diseases?

I don’t see why not. It’s frowned on if it’s a new person whose first (and only post) is a link to an outside side, because their clear motive is just to spam, but being someone who has been a member for awhile and has many posts and a long, established history…I think that shows you’re not just here only to shill your site.

A topic about it wouldn’t be out of line.
