Can any French/Swiss/Canadian Dopers help me?

I hope I’m posting in the right forum . . .

While traveling in France, I started using a simple over-the-counter product there: UPSA, a fizzing aspirin tablet. I loved this aspirin! It worked as well as ibuprofen and didn’t bother my stomach. On the contrary, it both cured my headache and calmed my tummy after I over-indulged (which I frequently did there).

Well, now I can’t use ibuprofen or regular aspirin tablets, and I’d love to be able to purchase UPSA online or otherwise. I’ve done a 'net search on UPSA and have not been able to turn up a thing. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on this stuff. Thanks in advance.

I’ve never heard of that. We get the usual American brands up here.

UPSA is a bristol-myers brand name that makes a number of effervescent products including upsarin which is probably what you got. UPSA is mainly marketed in eastern europe and russia, I don’t think their products are available here. You might have better luck searching for an online outlet with upsarin or try a local version like alka seltzer’s.

I know what you are talking about and I am pretty sure you can find it in the States…
The closet equivalent would be Alka Seltzer…
When I go home I’ll get you some!!! But you goit to wait a year now!

Sorry I thought I stopped the first one on time… well please read you CAN NOT find UPSA in the States…sorry!

Try under the name Dispirin or something similar to that. I had a British roomie that had her mom send it over.

I’ve seen fizzing aspirin of some description on this continent, but I don’t recall a brand name.

Well, a Google search on fizzing aspirin led me to this page, where they say it’s available in the US as Alka-Seltzer Effervescent Pain Reliever and Antacid or Flavored Alka-Seltzer Effervescent Pain Reliever and Antacid.
