I found Discord. It’s along the perimeter, close to 45° in the “northwest” part of the map.
My tablet crashes every time I load the map and zoom in to try to find it. I’ll have to try from the desktop tomorrow.

And adjacent to Discord is Membership Mountains, which would probably be the best place for the SDMB.
I read the bit at the bottom to find out how the map is organised, could not find Discourse, Chicago Sun-Times or Straight Dope or Straight Dope Message Boards.
It would seem, from what I could determine which is not the end all be all of this, that we don’t have enough of a presence, in any form or at any level, on the internet to be included on this map.
I will add the disclaimer that I was searching the map on my phone, so could very well be that I missed it, also I didn’t explore the darkweb or chinese areas of the map, well any area that didn’t seem english language oriented as it seemed unlikely to be fruitful
It says it includes “several thousand websites” which doesn’t sound like that many. I would not be surprised to find that The Straight Dope or SDMB are not within the largest 10,000 sites.
I zoomed in to read the text and saw they labeled the ocean with big ugly ‘Water’ text. I thought it looked really dumb. When I scrolled back out, I saw that it said ‘Watermark’ and realized it wasn’t the map that was dumb.
I couldn’t find a scale, but if it’s supposed to be the size of Earth, the smallest “localities” on that map would be equivalent to Earth cities of about 250,000 (about the size of, say, Buffalo, New York).
I think the Dope is like a city closer to 100,000 (say, Albany, New York), and so won’t show up on that map.
Our thematic range and historical influence is probably larger than our “size,” though, so maybe we’re more like a long but not super-important river that crosses several territories on that map, but still isn’t big enough to show up with a label on a map at that scale. The equivalent of, say, the Rhine River.
I’d like to think that, if we aren’t big, at least we’re one of those sites that is seminal. (That word always reminds me of Buffalo Springfield and the Yardbirds – two Sixties rock bands that are the epitome of seminal.)
It’s Discourse if you’re talking about the SDMB framework. I can’t think of a reason you’d bring up Discord.
