Can anybody identify the plaid in this scarf?

As most of you probably know, plaids (or tartans) are used in Scotland to designate clans, military regiments, schools, etc.

In the far upper left corner of this page is a plaid design that I am sure you have all seen countless times. The beige one.

It is so ubiquitous that it begs the question, “whose is it.” Is it just a design belonging to a particularly lucky clothing designer? Does it signify some royal person, or highly regarded institution?

Plenty of sites I searched could locate tartans when supplied with names, but none could return names from tartans.

Help.

It is, of course the Burberry Check
