I always thought he said “Heads held high, hit them when they’re low” but now I have my doubts. Not that I ever understood the rest of the song.
Anybody here fluent in West Indian?

To tell the truth, I’d always thought it was (and will always sing) “heads high…kill dem with the note…”
Turns out we were both wrong according to this:

Many popups
I like either of ours over the ‘real’ lyrics.
“Kill dem with it now”…??
Big ups,

I’m bumping this for two reasons.
First, I got one of those notifications that usually means someone replied to my comment or thread, a little number next to my avatar near the hamburger menu button. My habit is to refrain from clicking on the avatar and, instead, looking at threads I posted to recently. Today, I couldn’t find it and wound up clicking on the avatar and found I’d been awarded the Popular Link badge for hitting 50 clicks in this old thread. Neat.
And, second, that it appears that the lyric is, in fact, either “Kill 'em with it, no” or “Kill 'em with the No” and the 2004 lyric link was very close. There’s a remix titled ‘Heads High(Kill em With It Re-mix).’ Now that I know the lyric, it’s pretty obvious, especially when it’s repeated about 7 seconds from the beginning of the song. It will always be “Kill 'em with the note” (note in the musical sense) to me. So, @Biggirl, it seems to be solved.
