Flyer posted in a local history Facebook group. From 1935. No title given, unless the title is All Star Cast. I’ve had no luck with googling some of the character names and descriptions (like “Modernistic Misses.”)
Crazy Politics? Running Wild?
Wow, that is profoundly obscure. (You were right, I think, before you edited to add the second guess.) Almost no internet footprint at all for this. Learning that it was “A Universal Production” helped a bit, but even then the best I could find was an OCR of a newspaper mention contemporary to the play:
The initial rehearsal of the cast of “Crazy Politics,” a 3-act comedy … a Universal Master Stage Show, was especially written for community production. It will include a cast of 125 well-known men and women, chosen for their ability to act, sing and dance. The play is said to be a screamingly funny comedy built on a political situation in a small town. The scene of the show is laid in the “People’s Party” headquarters in the city of Centeryille. The People’s party is running a woman candidate for mayor in order to have a dignified campaign. However, the candidate fails to appear and a newspaper reporter is drafted to masquerade in her place. In addition to a cast of 100 men and women, there will be a girls’ group, composed of twenty-five high school and junior college students, who will take part in the dancing choruses required for the production. Twenty-five well-known business and professional men will take part in a “Caucus.” Another scene will feature a number of women singers in a “syncopated rally.” The play is reported to have been staged throughout the United States with huge success.
Yep Crazy Politics. Synopsis starts on p 1 bottom of the third column.
