Can anyone ID this music from Tim Burton's 'Vincent' ?

This early stop-motion from Burton is, as far as I know, featured on, at least, my DVD copy of ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’.

Maybe I’m going loopy and they’ve just made a soundtrack for it that is their original work but sounds familiar, but I’d swear I’ve heard before the music this film uses in it’s opening scenes (and over it’s credits, I think).

I believe it’s a classical piece, and the first time I watched this (excellent()short flick, I was totally blank as to what it was, but I knew it. I’m sure I’ve heard it elsewhere.

Anyhoo, there’s nothing in it’s credits and I can’t find any info on the net - so I turn to the SDMB…

Thanks all

I don’t know the name of it, but IIRC I used to sing along to that tune when I was a kid. Of course, I used the kid’s lyrics:

There’s a place in France
Where the naked ladies dance
And the men don’t care
So they eat their underwear

When I was quite young (1976) and taking piano lessons, that tune was in one of the books. I think it was called something like “Snake Charmer”.

(google interlude)

Someone who wonders as we do:

It may be credited to a fellow named “William O. Munn”.

Hope This Helps.
