Can anyone identify this Devilish Icon?

I need help identifying this devilish Icon, I wish I had a picture, however, I do not. Here is a brief description:

Tall, skinny, gangly man dressed in an ill fitting suit, with long black curly hair and a black top hat. His features look as if his skin is being stretched across his skull, he always wears a low smile, and has a 2 day scruff.

I’m thinking I remember this guy as a dark circus charactor, or 1920’s style vodoo priest. Anyone remember the black voodoo guy with the large top hat from James Bonds “For your Eyes Only” or was it “The Spy who Loved Me?”

I seem to remember that he was some sort of Icon, but I cannot place who? I’m thinking maybe Jack the Ripper meats Voodoo Priest?

Anyone know?

I think so yes! Live and Let Die…Great memory Paper Prince. This icon came to me in a dream…very odd indeed. However, in the dream he was white, and had long black hair…

No I’m not thinking of Riff Raff. The guy was scary, gangly, with long black hair and a top hat. Very weird suit almost red/dark purple.

Quick question: Are we talking “actor in costume” character? Or illustration? It is familiar and that would help me narrow it down.

We’re talking a dream where this guy appeared…But I cannot remember where I saw him but I knew he was iconic… Very creepy fellow…and no I do not think he’s the guy from the grateful dead album.

That’s a good guess. I was also thing “Oh, remember vintage Alice Cooper?” But no. There’s something about the red/purple outfit that the OP mentions.

I recently saw the poster for the new Willie Wonka movie with Johnny Depp, and I kind of shuddered because it remindeed me of… something…

I think the “something” is that other character.

FWIW, I may just be thinking of another version of Baron Samedi. Here’s another pic. For some reason I think there was a version in a movie where he looks like Brandon Lee in The Crow.

I was thinking “Baron Samedi” after reading the OP, and I’ve never even seen Live And Let Die. Voodoo is a fun religion.

Baron Samedi has a lot of different incarnations. Some make him look like Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. Other times he loos a lot more human.

Back in the… early 90s (?) Michael jackson did a Pepsi commercial. It was just him dancing in the street at night – back in the day when his arm in a cast was his style – I don’t even think there was music. Just some kind looking down from a window while MJ danced and as he danced he would scream and the street lamps would shatter. MJ was wearing a red shirt, black pants, and a wide brimmed black hat.

It was the first time he looked really pale. At the end of the commercial he looked up at the kid from under the brim of the hat… I nearly fainted from fright!
With his plastic surgery skin so pale and taught (way too tight) and his skeletal body, and the hat… shudder He looked SO MUCH like a Goolum/Baron Samedi hybrid. (Like this one.)

That’s when I started finding Michael Jackson to be exceptionally creepy.
