What is this Japanese food? and how do I prepare it? The directions are in Japanese. Do I add boiling water, or put the bowl in the microwave? These are the contents.

What is the text on this coin? Front view. Back view.
It’s udon, one of the standard types of noodles. Instructions are:
[ul]
[li]Remove outer cover and remove contents from bowl. (Which you’ve already done.) Leave inner cover (strainer?) in place.[/li][li]Place noodle in bowl, pour boiling water up to the line, and stir until noodles are loose. Immediately pour out the water through the strainer/cover.[/li][li]Remove inner cover. Put bean curd and powdered soup (the blue packet) into bowl and pour boiling water up to line. Pour liquid soup (the purple packet) into bowl. [/li][li]Season with hot pepper (red packet) according to taste.[/li][/ul]
Front says “tempoh tsuka”. Tempoh would be the reign of emperor Jinkoh (I think that’s how you say it), 1830-1844. Tsuka means coin or currency. Not sure about the reverse side, sorry. (It’s an archaic character and I need a better dictionary to handle that.)
No shit? I had no idea it was that old. It was given to me by a co-worker who got it when he worked in Japan in the 1950s.
