I want to upgrade my current one (128mb) and not sure what to get. I have an AGP graphics card slot, 2gig of ram and a pentium 4 3ghz processor. I’m inclined to nvidia but I’m a bit blinded by the options available from their site and would rather poll the reputable millions than spend hours reading reviews on the net for a card. Direct me people!

Personally, I have an ATI Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition. Pretty much as good as you can get from ATI with an AGP motherboard. I like it, it does a great job for gaming and working with my pictures in Paint Shop Pro.
Your best bet is to go to Tom’s Hardware and check their graphic card section. They have good information and do a great job on thoroughly testing the cards.
The best/most powerful card you can currently get for an AGP slot is the Nvidia 7800GS, which is about $299 US and is based on Nvidias latest video chipset. Reviews can be found in a variety of places
Basically ATI has abandoned AGP with its latest video chipsets so the 7800GS is really the only show in town. All my current computers use ATI cards if anyones worried Im an Nvidia acolyte.
