I have a costume party to go to and I have a reputation of going all out on these sorts of things… I have deicide to go the tried and tested vampire (they seem very popular at the moment) I have everything (including red contacts) but the fangs.
I bought some online (the dental appliance sort here ) and though I can imagine them working had a used the heat beads correctly they were so yellow that they looked comical.
I guessing it’s going to be pretty hard to match colour wise with my teeth which are quite white so I was thinking of one of these mouth guard sorts of fangs here. The Ebay seller was no help whatsoever when I asked about how easy it is to talk and drink with this thing in, does anyone have any experience? Or can anyone recommend a brand of fangs for me? Any extra costume suggestions would also be appreciated too!
They are slightly hollow fangs that come with a powder you mix to a paste to mould them to your teeth. A little finicky to do that, but once it’s done they’re great. They get moulded to your teeth (whichever ones you want them to be on) and pop on and off easily after the moulding to your teeth. A little awkward to get used to initially and you can’t eat anything with them in (unless its soft) and don’t drink anything hot or else they loosen and fall off (or was that the other brand I tried… I forget now, but it will tell you in the instructions included).
Mine I keep in the little case they come with, and I’ve had them for… oh, 3-4 years now. My last pair was older but they got thrown out by mistake when a waitress cleaned the table while I was away for a minute so if you expect to have to take them out to eat I suggest bringing the case to put them in.
I get a new set every year just because the selection keeps expanding. Last year I got the ones with the crystals on them.
These come with dental acrylic and it sets rock hard. I’ve worn them drinking both hot and cold drinks, but they are very difficult to try to eat with!
I love them. I wear them to work with no costume and people are always freaked out! They cause a little lisping, but acceptable for the fun.
