Help me with my fangs

I’m doing this vampire thing for Halloween. I have some of those fangs that come with the setting putty that’s supposed to mold to your teeth. Problems are that I’m out of the putty and even when I had some it didn’t work that well. I’m thinking of using some sort of denture adhesive. If I do, am I going to damage my own teeth? Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Suggestions on the best way to keep my fangs attached would be greatly appreciated.

Na, you can’t hurt your teeth with the denture stuff. Don’t know how well it would work with fangs though. And yes I know for sure you can’t hurt yourself as I have a crown that falls out some times and I need to put it back in for a few days and that’s what I use.

:::bump:::

The denture cream isn’t working. So far the only thing that’s held them at all is of all things Silly Putty but I’d like something with a little more sticking power. Somebody out there must be a theatrical type…help me out here people, Halloween is fast approaching!

The only vampire teeth I ever got to work were the ones I made for myself out of temporary crown material. I took a mold of my teeth and made a plaster copy of my upper teeth. Then I used the crown material to create the teeth. I attached them together with a flat arch that went across the roof of the mouth. I used a dremel sanding drum to finish the teeth. In the end, I could eat with them on. They rocked. It would be even better with that pink or clear stuff on the roof of the mouth rather than the tooth material, but that’s all I had.

Denture stuff won’t work for those fangs you have… it just gets slimey. I suppose you could try spirit gum… it’s safe for skin and there is a solvent for it… but it probably tastes horrible.

I haven’t found anything that will stick anything onto teeth. They’re too wet and slick.

These are what the theatrical types use. :smiley:

Won’t help you this year, since I can guarantee you Blue is swamped with orders right now (it being that time of year and all), but maybe for next year. I’ve had mine for uhmmm… 3 or 4 years and they’re still in perfect condition. No adhesive required. And Blue’s a great guy. :slight_smile:

Otto- Regarding the putty you had that didn’t work well, was that a two part ‘epoxy’ type?

That was the kind I used for my ‘bubba’ teeth and it worked pretty well for a night. I don’t remember where I got it offhand but I can try to find it if you’d like.

I’d offer help but reading this I have different fangs than you do. I have the ‘Custom Dracula Fangs’ which are molded to your teeth and can be remolded easily so even if your teeth change they can be adjusted to fit… it’s really easy too.

I think I’m gonna order me up a set of them Dracula fangs. Looks like they’ll get here in time for Halloween if I order them today.
