Can Bubbles Freeze?

Hi Teeming Millions (or even Cecil!),

I’ve been a huge fan of your column and now website for over a year, and I was wondering, can bubbles freeze? If they can, how does this work? How cold does it need to be?

Thanks!

Check the link in this thread . Paragraph 5 has a link that tells you how to freeze them.

I used to take the kid out in the deep freeze of winter and blow bubbles. They last longer, rise higher (because they are full of warmer air) and when they do pop, the bubble “skin” stays together and floats/plummets to the ground as a thin membrane blob.

What else are you gonna do at that temp?
