Can hair continue to grow after death?

I was once told by an Irishman that the head of Saint Oliver Plunkett continues to grow hair, 323 years after he was hung drawn and quartered (his head is preserved in a jar) call me a gullible fool but I also recently read that when Oscar Wildes’ remains were exhumed from one cemetery and relocated to the Père Lachaise cemetry in Paris that gravediggers were shocked to see that his hair and beard had grown.
I think my Irish friend was having a lend of me but could there be any truth to these claims?

Thanks Mangetout, I figured that was the case… The Irish guy was very convincing though. It made the story a lot more interesting.
