Considering I majored in Limnology and took several classes on Forestry, I think I qualify as having “an interest in nature” and I can say without fear of contradiction that if I am discussing trees in a scientific forum, I would refer to Russian Olive as Elaeagnus angustifolia and Red Cedar as either Juniperus virginiana orThuja plicata. Insisting that they are typed as russianolive or redcedar on a general interest website because that’s how your college professor preferred it seems more like “trying to pick a fight” than anything I’ve done.
There’s a joke to be made about missing the forest for the trees here. Please drop the hijack about spelling.
