Can house cats really get this big?

The tail and person’s hands look particularly fake, and the whole thing looks rigid. I could believe a housecat could get that big sooner than I’d believe that photo’s real.

I am sure the cat is real and the man is real but look at the fingers on the guy…very freakishly long. His hands in this case belong to someone 10 feet tall.

I would say, after looking at this picture pixel by pixel, it most certainly looks to me like it’s not a true photo.

This is not the only digitally altered photo in the album. See:

There is a winery on Long Island that has the biggest housecat I’ve ever seen. It was enormous. But it was nowhere near that big. I side with those who are pretty skeptical of the photo.

Y’know, techchick is the only person who’s given any reason why she thinks it’s digitally enhanced. Faked, certainly, but there’s plenty of ways to fake a picture.

For what it’s worth, that is definitely a cat’s body, whether stuffed, enlarged, or pasted. Look at the paws: No claws visible. Only cats have retractable claws.

Shoot! Sorry about that.

I linked to this picture on a different site a while back in a thread discussing my cats’ gas problem.

The consensus in that thread was that the photo was indeed a fake.

I loaded the picture into a veiwer and began playing around with different settings and zooms. What gives it away is the guys fingers. They’ve been added, or airbrushed in over the cats fur. If you zoom in on them you can easily see that they don’t even look like fingers.

I think the big guy is holding something like a gun or something similar in the original, had a normal sized cat enlarged and re-inserted in the guys arms, to make what we see now.

It should be noted that cats can get this large, but not in this instance.

It’s obviously fake. The last time I tried to touch my Mutant Ubercat “down there” she took my arm off.

Plus it is blurry and out of focus…
Almost pixelated…and what’s up with those hands…
It’s probably two pictures of two different cats tacked on…

[sub]but only if they really, really like you.[/sub]

But I must…
Ahem <cough>
That is, without a doubt, the BIGGEST PUSSY I have ever seen.

Thank you.

If you’re going to fake a picture, fake it well, damn it! I hate that crap.

Anyway, the biggest cat I’ve ever seen was not tall, but wide. It was so fat, it couldn’t stand, so it would lie on its stomach and would spread out like a pancake. The thing was probably a little more than a foot across. It couldn’t walk, so it would just drag itself around the floor with its front paws. Needless to say, tile floors were the favorite, since she could move along easier. Took her forever to get anywhere, so when she got near her food bowl, Josh(the guy who owned the cat) would move the bowl behind her. It would take her about a minute to turn herself around, then crawl back toward the bowl again. Cruel, but oddly funny.

It looks to me like a close-up of a cat standing on the ground that was cut and pasted into the photo with the guy. Pretty easy to do, and I think that it’s pretty good work for a non-pro hobbyist.

K.

It seems almost inhuman top allow a cat to feed itself to the point that it would get so fat it’s virtually crippled. If the cat was this huge why didn’t the owner feed it less.

Just for the record; while I hate cats, I don’t condone cruelty to them and would have done something had I thought they were purposely causing harm. I believe they tried to put her on some kind of diet cat food stuff, but she wouldn’t eat it. There was only one kind of food she would eat(even when she was skinny) and when she didn’t get as much as she wanted, she’d make this god-awful noise until you gave her more. That’s how she got fat.

It looks to me like the guy is casting a shadow and the cat isn’t. Definitely phony.

Yep, its definitely faked, you can see the sloppy masking around the cat’s forepaws.

FYI, my mom had a cat that weighed 40 pounds. We had 3 cats and it would always steal the other cat’s food (the other cats were very skinny) so we always had to put out more food, which the fat cat would gobble up again. The cat always had a sickening tangled mat of fur on its lower back next to the tail, because it was so obese it couldn’t reach that spot to lick itself. The vet said he’d never seen a cat so large, and asked me he could have the cat mounted on its death. She declined. But anyway, it was just a normal average sized cat, but very obese.
