Whoops. Sorry. That is what I meant. Thank you for clarifying.
You can’t? How come? Are you not allowed to bring your own alcohol on a plane or something? Is that an FAA rule or just a “You have to buy ours” airline rule?
Just to play devil’s advocate, filled with water that metal bottle would make a formitable improvised weapon. Could knock somebody out with one whack!
Both I believe; I tried to bring some ‘mini bottles’ of Whiskey i bought in duty free on a plane last year - United flight from the UK to the US; I was told I was not allowed to drink any alchohol not purchased onboard and that it was an FAA reg. I was told it was to avoid drunken air rage incidents, which I thought was stupid at the time - not much to stop me from getting lubricated at the airport or even at home before the airport, then topping up on the plane, so it seemed a bit stupid.
ETA - not the only reason I hate flying on US-flag carrier airlines, but it is definitely one of them - no free booze on long-haul. Screw that, it’s just a pain in the ass and false economy.
Actually, that is one rule that makes sense. Otherwise you’d have people arguing at every checkpoint whether the amount they have in their 1 quart container is more or less than 3 oz. Do you really want TSA to have a set of measuring cups to determine whether your amount passes? Much better to have a rule that you can bring an empty container of any size, or a full or partially full container that can only hold 3 oz. or less.
