I’d like a friend of mine to hear a song I found. Can I send it to her somehow. It is a song I bought through iTunes. I have a Mac and she has a PC.
Much thanks.

I suspect that this thread is due to be locked in 5… 4… 3…
But having said that, you can find the file that you’re interested in and email it. I’m not sure about iTunes on the Mac, but on Windows you can just drag the file that you’re interested in to another folder (say your desktop) and email it from there.
The best (and most legal) way would be to email her the artist and title, and let her buy the song herself.
Well, yeah, you can email her the file. But I’m pretty sure iTunes DRM will not allow her to actually play it. Songs purchased from iTunes are tied to the iTunes account they came from; you can’t just willy nilly send 'em to everyone.
There’s ways around it, but any discussion of ‘em here will result in a spankin’
It’ll have the DRM protection, that will not allow her to play it, unless you give her your iTunes password, and authorize her computer to play your music (you are only allowed 5 computers, so be frugal).
HOWEVER…
There is a chance you’ve purchased an iTunes Plus song. In this case, the music is marked up a little bit, but has no DRM protection. I’m on a Mac, so I’m not sure if it’s the same on a PC, but the icon for the file has a little lock on it if it’s DRM’d, and no lock if it’s not.
Just to clarify, I’ve no desire to “give” her the song illegally. I’m not trying to give it to her for her to place in her iTunes library, just to have her hear it. I was hoping there was a way for her to play the song in an email and not do anything else with it.
Is it a really obscure song that can’t be heard elsewhere? Otherwise, if it has a music video for example, it’s probably on Youtube. Otherwise, chances are the song can be found on this site: http://www.playlist.com/ and played through their Flash players (rather than downloaded).
If the song is going to play on her computer it needs to be copied to her computer.
Youtube had it. Brilliant. Thanks.
