I was wondering if I could go door to door looking for things like wierd liquor bottles, stamps, old books, etc. Or is there some kind of special permit or something that I have to get for this. It is not a charity or anything like that it’s for collecting.
You’re not selling anything, so I don’t suspect you’d need a permit, but it will probably get sticky asking to root through stranger’s attics. They may think you’re ‘casing’ the place looking for stuff to steal, or up to ‘no good’ in general.
You’d probably be better off posting flyers in your neighbourhood with something to the effect of “Let me buy the junk in your attic”, and leaving your phone number.
Either that, (if you live in the area) organize a garage sale and just buy everybody’s stuff there.
