Can I have Cruise Control installed in my 95 Geo Prizm? How much $?

I have a 95 Geo Prizm. It’s quite … well-traveled … but it still drives without a hitch. My wife drives our Honda Element to work (70 mi R/T), and even though it’s OK on gas, it’s not close to the Geo. And with gas prices ever higher (and the snow gone, so she doesn’t need the AWD) I’d prefer she drive the Geo. But the Geo has no cruise control, and she has a bit of a lead foot, and is terrified of getting nailed by the very zealous troopers.

So … can I have cruise control added to my Geo? How much would that cost?

As far as I know, aftermarket cruise control can be installed on virtually any car. Check with an automotive alarm/stereo shop.

Sell it and buy another Geo with cruise control.

Dob80’s reply is (IMHO) actually pretty good. I talked to my mechanic, he said it’d run about $300-400. He said that aftermarket units aren’t too bad now, but they don’t have the reliability of factory units. I’ve got a '94 Lsi and it came with cruise control, so hey, look around I think you can get an Lsi package like mine for about $2000 or less, easy.
