Can I just dial up an ISP and enroll?

I’m not happy with my current home ISP. I am unable to use it. Since I can’t use it (I can never get “connected”), I can’t go out on the web from home to enroll with another.

Do any of the ISPs just have numbers where you can dial up (from the computer) and enroll that way?

Can’t say I’m aware of any. It might be worth picking up one of those free CDs that ISPs are always handing out with magazines and using that (either as an ISP or as a way to get connected to find another one).

Since you are posting right now, I presume you have internet access from elsewhere, such as work. You can sign up from there, and get the access numbers to put into the dial-up setup on your home computer.

I just signed up for earthlink, since my msn quit working and I can’t get tech support from those goofs. I was almost desperate enough to install AOL ::shudder:: but I was able to sign up from work.

Doesn’t AOL have a ‘guest’ page? I tried it once, you install one of those cd’s & you can logon to the guest page & create an acct. Dunno if you still can, but I bet you can.
