I just got a piece of software that insists that I put the CD in the drive to run it. I find this irritating, and don’t want to have to burn a CD just to do this. Is there a bit of software that will allow me to just put the .ISO on my hard drive and let the PC “think” that it’s reading the CD to get around this?
Yes, plenty.
Alcohol 120
Daemon Tools
Nero has a tool too but I don’t remember what it’s called.
I like VirtualCD on Windows.
Anyone have a Mac solution? Yeah, we have native support for disk images in the operating system, but too many games insist on making sure it’s a “real” CD and not a virtual one. PITA, and I’m programmed to sometimes feel guilty looking for no-cd cracks on peer-to-peer sites.
I assume this is the now “free” Rebirth givin your other thread?
Uggh. They made this as annoying as possible. Or rather, they didn’t do anything when they discontinued it, so now it’s as annoying as possible.
