I end up helping a friend with his iPhone 3, because he’s just not technical. So, he wants to remove the Google Maps app. This is not available through the normal method. Does anyone have instructions on how it might be done?
No. It’s part of the OS.
Unless there’s some jailbreak way, in which case someone else may be able to help.
However, what you could do is make a folder called “Unused apps” or something, and drop Maps into it, and put it on a far-right-hand page, so he never has to see it (though why anyone would care if it’s installed or not eludes me - it’s one of the handiest things on the phone).
