I haven’t played a rated game since sometime in the 1980s, but my name still appears in that database. You also can search for players with an international (FIDE) rating here:
but I don’t know how far back that database goes.
The USCF ratings available online go back to the mid to late 90’s. For older ones, you would have to check the archived issues of Chess Life which produced an annual rating list - usually in the January issue.
Wow. My name is in there even though I never played a rated game. I subscribed to Chess Life and had some kind of chess ID card back in 1989 so that was good enough to cement me in US chess history.
