Can I the Windows balloon from telling me when my wireless network is connected?

I know there was a thread on this a long time ago, but I couldn’t find it by searching.

I’m using laptop, which I frequently put in and out of standby. Everytime I “wake up” my computer, it must reconnect to the wireless router. I understand this, but I hate that a balloon on my system tray has to pop up everytime it connects.

I do not want to remove the entire icon of my wireless connection; I do want to see that it is connected/connecting. I just don’t want the balloon to pop up.

Any way to do this?

Download and install the free TweakUI utility - assuming you’re running XP - and under the “Taskbar & Start Menu” options is a checkbox you can clear labelled “Enable balloon tips”.
