my laptop won’t connect to the net, can I ask in detail what may be going on in that forum? I’m reading the Tech Support Checklist thread, so I take it that I can, but want to make sure here first.

Yes, you can, but ironically, this question should have been asked in ATMB.
They ask that you check this thread as well in case your problem’s come up with some before now. Ask one of the GQ mods if you’re concerned, but (a non-mod opinion here) you should be okay.
