Sometimes, companies do the right thing…I’d still watch your back, there are often reprocussions for whistle blowers, but smart companies make an effort to create a time lag between events.
Speaking as an HR professional, we actually like whistleblowers, believe it or not. One of our jobs is to protect the company from legal liability, and very often folks like the OP will be our first warning sign that there is a potential legal risk happening. Failing to fire this manager could have easily turned this situation into a sexual harassment case at the very least, even without the statutory rape angle. No company wants to be on the local news because one of their managers was arrested for raping a 17 year old coworker.
Sometimes if an employee is a douche in one aspect of their personal behaviour they may well be treading the edges of acceptability in others.
Firing them may not be risk free option for the management team since there may be recourse to law by the sacked person and there just isn’t quite enough to ensure no come back.
Something such as this will give justifiable reason to offload, even though the real reason is assholery.
The OP sounds like a miserable, jealous POS. Instead of worrying about what others do, maybe he should try and correct things in his own life to hopefully attract ANY woman. :dubious:
Now that this old thread has been bumped, could someone with a legal background postulate on why clause (a) above has the 4-8 year range and the 8-11 year range separated, rather than having a single 4-11 year range?
What business is it of the OP to care as long as it’s not affecting him personally. What the heck does this mean from the OP : “I feel like I accomplished my mission”. What is that mission exactly? This is not a baby locked in a hot car. It’s two adults (17 or not) that are having some sort of friendship / relationship. Do you feel justified to follow them to determine the exact nature of their relationship?
I can think of a case though where the guy was much higher in the company than the gal and he stayed in a “relationship” with her for six years. She apparently put up with being strung along since she moved up in the ranks pretty well. It actually got a little play in the news when he finally did marry her (I’m guessing she blackmailed him.) Her name is Melinda French if you’ve ever heard of her.
I hate to quibble over legal language, but it sounds to me like the OP of this thread is the only potential “complainant” –

“complainant, is . . . the party who initiates a lawsuit (also known as an action) before a court.”* Wikipedia.
