Can right and left agree on anything?

Make it a [del]bag[/del] bale of weed; mean drunks are far more common than mean stoners.

Have you heard the phrase, “hold my beer”?

I’ve had to think about this for quite a while, but I’m beginning to suspect he’s not actually an artist at all, starving or well-fed. Well, bullshit artist, maybe.

Seriously? I thought you posted your " Great Debate " in good faith…

Just to be contrarian, it might not. If, e.g., Alabama (since it is alphabetically first) petitioned the Congress for secession, and Congress arrived at a point where it made sense to accept the petition, that would begin a years-long process of study and negotiation. Counties would be polled, and if there were border counties opposed to secession, that would be part of the haggling (which might also include counties in neighboring states that might poll for joining the secession, depending on how the process would work).

The US(49) would establish concords with Alabama along with agreements between Alabama and its neighbors, so that completion of the secession would not be fraught with difficulties. Congress might even require that the secessors draft an operating plan for their existence as a sovereignty, because no one wants to be living next to a fucked-up mess.

I think it could be done. But the rolltide would no longer be in the NCAA. They would have to be content with playing Auburn every year and not much else.

:dubious:

This doesn’t come across as very “agnostic” (or respectful of “Judeo-Christian values”).

I would quibble that that could reasonably considered “agnostic” (speaking as an agnostic myself), although not particularly respectful. And is “belief in God” a Judeo-Christian “value” or merely a “tenet”? Enquiring semantic pedants want to know!

Fair enough, though the way I took it was that someone who was truly open to the possibility of deities existing (which is I how I understand agnosticism) wouldn’t “poison the well” as such by making such a statement.

Then again, given the nature of the OP of this thread…

It’s right in the article you quoted in your OP!

The funny thing is most of the liberals I know in real life are Christians. (My own parents, for one). Hell, even though I’m not really practicing anymore, I still call myself a Catholic and I believe in God.

No, it’s a simple statement of fact. It has nothing to do with “values” of any kind, but is an observation that all of the gods humans have invented have not benefited us at all.

I did. If I didn’t, would you please show proof of that?

Operative word is “quoted”. But speaking as an observer, third party so to speak, I do have to agree with the idea that liberals, for the most part, do scoff at Judaeo-Christian concepts.

And you haven’t? Quit weaseling.

And I would say that you, pretty much always, lie about liberals.
Religious views by party affiliation.
There’s a number of charts so I will not quote any so as to avoid accusations of cherry-picking.

You posted that list, one that you stated was quite accurate, and then pretended that you have never indicated that liberals sneer at Judeo Christian values. While technically true that you didn’t state it, you posted the quote and said you felt it was accurate.

I can’t prove what was or was not in your head, but i can tell you that you are coming across as quite the troll.

Hanlon’s Razor may apply here.

You could be right, at least as far as it applies to me as an individual. Just to make sure, do you suppose you could list some of them for me? TIA

True every artist I know is of the commie godless liberal hippie variety that caused the downfall of America in the 60’s.

Well, here’s one attempt http://www.stonekettle.com/2017/10/the-myth-of-judeo-christian-values.html.
