So you are upset that I think the quote is accurate, and that somehow makes me a troll, am I correct? And liberals never sneer at J-C values, so you are okay with being outraged about the fact that I think the quote is accurate, right?
Let me pose a question. People who adhere to J-C values believe that homosexuality is wrong. Liberals think homosexuality is just hunky-dory, to the point where they are willing to drive J-C people out of business for adhering to their values (remember the wedding cake fiasco, as an example?). How would behavior like that NOT be construed as sneering at J-C values?
Try again, Guin. Questioning the existence of a god is not scoffing at J-C concepts overall. Do you have a problem with those parts of the 10 commandments that don’t mention a god, such as don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t murder, take care of your parents, etc.? I certainly don’t.
Right now it’s Republicans who are breaking all those rules. And liberals are trying to stop them.
And you have time and time again told that you support Republicans and are against liberals…
Yeah, why is that, I wonder? If God exists and is as powerful as Judeo-Christians typically describe, homosexuality must be the result of a conscious choice on God’s part, therefore believing it is wrong is calling God wrong.
Maybe God isn’t omnipotent after all and just made a blunder. In which case I really wouldn’t make such a number out of it, God being pretty mean and petty character sometimes.
But that’s not a J-C value. J-C values would be loving your neighbor and not casting the first stone and all that stuff Jesus said, and as a result many Christians don’t think homosexuality is wrong. So why aren’t people that use religion as an excuse for their prejudice the ones sneering at J-C values?
I think you misunderstand. I’m not at all upset. I’m simply pointing out that you are not arguing in good faith. You posted a quote, exclaimed how accurate it was, and when asked about a specific point in your very accurate quote, denied saying any such thing.
It doesn’t upset me at all. I really don’t care, beyond the fact that i observed it and commented.
Liberals, Democrats, agnostics and atheists are not sneering at J-C values. In fact most follow those values. We sneer at people that claim to have those beliefs while not following any of them. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
And as humans, yes it makes us angry, some have gone over the edge to bring light to the assholes that put the current administration in power.
Those that don’t give one care about their neighbors and the earth that they live on. Those are the so called ‘Christians’ that voted for Trump. Some are just on the low end of the bell curve, I can forgive them for voting for the current CIC (con-man in chief). Some though, don’t care about anyone but themselves. Their agenda is ‘Fuck the future, I want more now’. Just like Trump.
The good news is that Trump is such a moron, he will get little of his agenda passed. Or it will be easily overturned when sanity comes back to the government.
I thought you wanted a discussion, Clotha. Right now, the discussion seems to be the degree of your childishness, with numerous examples brought to light. I’m not sorry that it upsets you, because you being upset is hopefully part of your maturing process.
Octoputz proves evolution runs in reverse. You’re pretty much proof positive that intelligent design never happened. Between the two of you, I’d say quadrupedal man is a real possibility.
So, does that mean you’re open to the moral values of other religions besides Christianity, given that you reserve the right to doubt the existence of their supreme deity(ies)?
If not, it sounds like you’re trying to hang on to Judeo-Christian values enough to warrant admission into Heaven in case it exists.
So it’s okay to be a jackass in the name of Judeo-Christian values? (As in, using it to discriminate against others?) Believing that homosexuality is all right is NOT sneering at Christianity, or Judaism. It’s saying, "hey, it’s not right to treat people like shit and say, “Because Jesus!!!” Just like it wasn’t okay to use Christianity as a defense to support slavery. And you fucking know that.
Was it okay during the sixties, when people boycotted buses, and the government forced businesses to serve blacks? People used “Judeo-Christian values!” to justify segregation, too.
The ten commandments against stealing, adultery, etc are NOT exclusive to Christianity or Judaism, either.
