Just had one of those days today.
My husband’s paycheck has been hovering somewhere between banks for over a week now, which sucks. Especially with the rent and child support due, and my landlord (who has the patience of a saint) showing up to give me the electric bill, which is also due.
Then, there was a mighty crash from the living room. Went in to see what the deal was - both pelmets had fallen off the walls, taking out my bonsai tree in the process.
I missed tonight’s Amazing Race. We’re a season behind, I believe (so don’t anyone dare spoil it). Last people to get sent home were Lori and Bolo, if that narrows the season down. Not anything major, but still a blah point in my day.
Then I burnt my dinner, because I was too cheap to buy the nice pot and pan set that my husand really wanted to get.
Plus, I’m starting to get a little homesick. Not in any major way but… well, I’ve never been out of the States this long, and I have no idea how much longer I’ll be here. I love South Africa, and am glad to be here, but I really do miss some of the comforts of home. Even just the little ones. Like a big steaming mug of Ghirardelli hazelnut hot cocoa with whipped cream. Or a Dunkin Donuts Great One, Hazelnut, Light and Sweet.
