TV Land is celebrating the Beverly Hill Billies’ 40th Birthday. Now, I swear they said they were running 40 episodes which equates to 20 hours. Yet, they claim it’s an all-weekend marathon! What gives? I know weekends go fast, but thank goodness a weekend is longer than 20 hrs!
Maybe the ads claiming 40 episodes really meant 40 hrs?

Obviously, they’ve spent so much time in front of the TV that they’ve forgotten how to count

In general, I don’t get their marketing technique at all - for TV Land or Nick at Nite. IMHO, they shouldn’t run the same line-up every single night! For goodness sake, so many classic shows, so little time! What is the point of running the same line-up AND repeating ot throughout the day AND overlapping episodes between segments of the day with the same line-up. What’s the point?

Perhaps just 20 episodes a day, maybe from noon to midnight? Or did they say that’s all they would play during the weekend??
Could be worse – (slight hijack) – Saturday Night Live premiered in September 1975, then had their “25th Anniversary” in September 1999…
(Since that was the same year people were mistakenly calling the end of the 20th century, I truly thought somebody was trying to make my head explode.)
This would be my guess. There was another “marathon” from either TV Land or Nick recently that was a few episodes spread out over a week during prime-time. Can’t remember what show it was.
Jeff Olsen, was that “Father Knows Best?” I believe there was a “marathon” of that which just meant that their prime-time lineup was replaced by FKB for a few days or a week.
Yeah, I think FKB was it. TV Land used to show episodes from the same series all weekend and call it a marathon, now their marathons can be anywhere from three hours a night to an entire afternoon.
