Can Verizon cell phones be transferred to other people?

Is it possible to change the phone number associated with a Verizon (CDMA, I think) cell phone? I have a phone I’d like to sell on eBay but I don’t know what I have to do and what the buyer has to do once he gets the phone in order to get it switched to his account.

Within Verizon? Shouldn’t be a problem.

Just clear all of your stuff from it (there’s an option for that somewhere on the phone), then when he gets the phone, he just needs to take it to an authorized Verizon store and have it activated. Just did this for a friend of mine. Piece of cake.

I didn’t even need to go to a Verizon store. I activated one over the phone and another on the website.
