The Adrian Lyne Lolita (the one with Jeremy Irons in the lead) has one of cinema’s most inexplicable full-frontals.
Toward the end, we have Frank Langella as the Quilty character running through the house with a fully-open bathrobe with not a shred covering his naughty bits nor dignity.
I have no idea how anyone thought this was a good idea. For starters we’re talking about Frank Langella (Frank Langella!!!) and certainly no one needs to see him like that all flippin’ and a-floppin’.
Out of consideration for the humanity that binds us all –no link provided.
I’ve never understood this mindset. Women get to drool over men’s bare chests far more than men do women. That’s the equivalence.
The equivalent of penis is the merkin, which is just as not-the-same-thing as men’s and women’s chests. And the frequency of seeing penis and merkin is about equal. Other than the infamous Julianne Moore* scene in Short Cuts and Kate Winslet in every movie she ever made, how many merkins have you seen?
Nakes butts is finally an equitable equivalent, and again I think the frequency is probably the same for both sexes.
*I don’t know that used a merkin, but wouldn’t be surprised to find out she did. Why not, right?
Now, I could see how the ladies & gay guys would go for that if it were Langella back in his Dracula days, but ewwwwwww!
Of course, I disliked the movie for its stark literalism & humorlessness. It told the story of Nabokov’s LOLITA but took the soul out of it, which I really think Kubrick did a better job of conveying.
You know, it’s times like this when I really really wished I had more gay friends…
Thanks for the tip I just went through 10+ pages of results and found a handful of yummies…then I came upon an entry for a friend from high school who became an actor. I did not see his wee-wee, but he looks pretty good.
FYI, that’s shopped. There were no full frontal publicity stills shot. Cuz, what would they be used for? But there are some cell-phone pics from the audience floating around out there.
While conducting scientific research on “Hercules and the Tyrants of Babylon,” I stumbled across this picture of Peter Lupus a.k.a. Rock Stevens, perhaps better known as one of the stars of TV’s "Mission Impossible. Apparently he was one of the first well-known male actors to pose for Playgirl.
Unfortunately, every time I post his picture, photobucket deletes it, but Ewan McGregor is known for doing full frontal. Google search “naked Ewan McGregor”
