I have two contributions…wait, three.
In 1986, my sister and I went to the quilt store and bought fabric for a thank you quilt for our mother. We made the templates, and I cut out and pieced the first block. This year (2006) we sat down together and cut out pieces for…the second block, which I have yet to piece. I have to have block two done by June 12. The quilt has 24 blocks total. 20 years between blocks.
In 1982 I bought the fabric for my first-born child’s baby quilt. I am hand-piecing it, and I worked on it whenever I went to the beauty parlor or had to sit around at the car-repair places. I have 12 blocks done, eight more to go. My first-born is 24 years old.
In 1979 I embroidered a sampler for my parents as a gift at my wedding. I was going to frame it, but my mom asked me to add my initials to it. Two months ago I snuck it out of her handerkerchief drawer and hope to have it done by Mother’s Day. Dad died in 1981. I got divorced in 1995. We would be celebrating our 27th anniversary this year.
