can you bring folding chairs to a concert

can you usually bring folding chairs to a outdoor concert?

It depends. Often there’s a separate area for people with chairs so they don’t block the people sitting on the ground.

I’m wondering if they will let me in at all or claim " it could be used as a weapon" or some bs. It folds up and can be slung over my shoulder. It’s more like a folding stool. It looks like this http://allencompany.net/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/500x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_1570.jpg

Depends on the venue. I know of two places you can, but one of them encourages “low-profile” types. (Butt on the ground, but with a pad and seat-back) There is an area behind the amphitheater seating on the grass for that. You can also bring a small cooler, but no glass containers.

Great place to see a show.

There is no General Answer to this question; it entirely depends on the venue.

Seriously, every venue has its own unique rules. There is no universal standard. They may even have different rules for a classical music concert vs a heavy metal show. Contact the specific venue.

If you want us to help, can you at least post the name of the venue?

ETA: Just like Thudlow Boink said.

Go to the venue’s website and look it up.

You have to at every local venue, or else you sit on the grass.

Since this it a “depends” question, moved to IMHO from General Questions.

A depends question is “what do I wear if I’m going to a concert and I don’t want to leave my seat in between sets”?

It’s a rock concert

The answer is: fifteen

no, since its a rock concert - the answer must be eleven.

Which does not answer the question which Alley Dweller asked – where is the concert?

Even if folding chairs are generally allowed at lawn venues, if they aren’t allowed at the particular venue to which you’re going, that answer doesn’t help you in the slightest.

Outdoor? Everyone does it here. Some places require that you can only use the lower beach or concert type chairs.

If the venue allows it, bring it I guess. Just don’t be one of those guys at a Motorhead concert sitting in the middle of general in your lawn chair expecting everyone else to sit down, or get out of your way because you can’t see.

Fine, but there must also be a banana to mitigate all that sweating.

We just got home from a concert in a park http://www.summersounds.com/ where 90% of the people bring chairs. Most bring coolers of beer, food, small tables, etc.

only if wearing the appropriate gloves.
