Can you clone parts of animals?
Could you clone or tissue-culture a rhino’s horn or a snow-leopards coat, so that people would leave the animals themselves alone?

I don’t think that would help. Synthetic gems haven’t reduced the demand for the naturally-found versions, even though they’re chemically the same (and can be almost flawless). Instead, it created a new market for lower-cost gems.
The same thing might happen with animal products. You could argue that it has already happened, with artificial furs.
