I use google sketchup and I remember that earlier (although I don’t remember how), you could have chosen a terrain from google earth and export it to google sketchup, I’ve done that myself, although I don’t remember if it was a 2d terrain or or 3d. Anyway, can you do the same with the new 3d meshes? There’s a billion of awesome buildings that are out there and the quality sure is bad, but you could use those buildings as a base to make your own better versions.
