Hi, so basically what I want to do is use google sketchup to make all sorts of 3d models of city blocks, etc. (I tried 3ds max, blender and others, but I just don’t have the time to learn them), anyways, what I am looking for is a game engine that can easily import 3d models and that has a first or 3rd person controller, without me having to make everything, so the ultimate goal is to make like a 3d model of a little city or something and to have a person walk around it or something like that.
I used the Cryengine and I made some big models for it, its easy to export to it with the Playup plugin from Sketchup, but the problem is that after I export the models to the Cryengine and set all the textures settings (opacity, brightness, etc), when I exit Cryengine and enter it later again, the models don’t have the settings for the textures that I set up previously and I have to do them again and I have no idea how to fix that issue.
The other engine I tried is Unity, I think that you don’t even need a 3rd software to export models from Sketchup to it, its extremely easy, but you need to create your own cars and characters, which is not that easy. There are cars and stuff that you can buy, but I’d rather spend money on stuff like food and bills, so…
The last one that I tried, but a long time ago, was the Unreal engine, but exporting to it from Sketchup was a nightmare.
