Can you find five birthday candles in this I Spy image?

My son is into his cool “I Spy” book.

I can not, for the life of me, find the fifth birthday candle on this page. I have uploaded pics of the two page spread. I have circled in blue the four candles we have found.

Note: Some swirly sticks are candy-sugar-sticks, not candles. I hope the images are clear enough.

My son has gone to bed and my wife and I have been looking for quite awhile. Where is it?

There are four lights.

Seriously, I doubt the page was properly proofed. They probably meant to say 4 candles but goofed.

Maybe the fifth one has already been burned down to a little glob of wax that looks like a piece of candy.

The solid red one a the top of the first page?

Maybe? No wick for sure. The other four candles are the same kind and the little ones you get in a pack.

We think the red thing on the first page is a candy.

Is this it ?

That’s it!!!

What kind of maniac made a book for children and decided to hide an entirely white candle along a candy cane like that? That is insane!!!

Thank you so much! I can’t believe you found it. It’s hard on the full resolution/non-photographed version. Even blurrier and harder on the pic I put up online.

Great work, McGuffy!

Well spotted!

Yeah, good job! I was about to suggest that the book itself IS the last candle and should be burnt.

I am going to show my son and daughter when I get home from work. I’m tempted to have them write a letter to the I Spy publisher about how hard this one was.

I think they book should highlight a challenging one on each page. It’s a fair hidden object if one knows that 4 candles are normal and 1 is super challenging. My 6-year-old son spotted everything else on the pages(and the preceding several pages), struggling on quite a few. This object, however, was nutzo.

It’s clever, but it jumped out at me, too, because there’s just an odd interruption in the stripe pattern of the candy cane. It took a bit of staring at it to figure out that it was the last candle, though.

It’s fairly standard in these find-the-hidden-object pictures to line up one basically linear object with another basically linear object. Usually, it’s next to, not right on top of, but I’d still say this was fair.

Yeh, I spotted it in about a minute.

I also found the key.

I am a god among men.

It is, however, the only object in the book so far we have struggled for more than 5 minutes to find.

It’s a good book, though. My son is really into it. He got it as a prize for being well behaved during my wife’s piano lessons she gives him.

I see the problem … someone used a crayon to circle the first 4 candles …

I Spy my eye …
